Breast Cancer Books
Consider these favourite books your friends as they accompany you through your Breast Cancer journey and beyond.
These are two of my favourite Breast Cancer Books and they will quickly become your favourites, too. If you are looking for inspiring, practical information on how to beat Breast Cancer NATURALLY by changing the way you think, the way you eat, and the way you enjoy life … I couldn’t recommend these books highly enough. They’re easy to read, and include some light-hearted moments and inspiring stories. Written by Ross Taylor, a cancer survivor who is the immediate Past President of Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia, Inc. (Ross and Cathy Taylor are pictured here with their beloved Penny.)
I know that may look odd - a man holding the top position in a Breast Cancer organization, but if anyone knows anything about living with cancer, it is Ross Taylor. His first book ’LIVING SIMPLY WITH CANCER' was written soon after he survived a fatal diagnosis of melanoma – a diagnosis that gave him just 12 months to live. The foreword is written by another famous Breastcancer Survivor, Olivia Newton-John. It is highly suitable for those people who have recently been diagnosed with cancer, their carers and families. In the years since the book was first published in 1996, it has been read by over 40,000 people around the world – and ALL PROCEEDS from the sale of this book go towards Cancer Support Charities worldwide. To date, Ross’s book sales have raised over $165,000 for some 65 cancer charities in Australia and around the world.
'CREATING HEALTH …YOURSELF' was written in conjunction with Dr Ian Brighthope, arguably Australia’s foremost authority on nutrition and how it can contribute to creating better health. Dr Brighthope donates all the royalties from his contribution to this book to cancer charities also. Almost every book written about diet, stress and health has been written by people with extensive qualifications, who are doctors, or hold a PhD in a whole range of subjects. These people are well qualified to discuss these issues, but it is YOU who will have to actually put their recommendations into practice - not THEM. The ‘experts’ walk the stage promoting good health and stress reduction, as their incomes depend upon it. Ross shares his knowledge about creating good health and reducing stress because his LIFE depends upon it! I just LOVE this book. It’s a joy to read, and full of great tips and practical steps for reducing stress. It highlights the good, bad and ugly of diet and nutrition to make healthy food choices so simple. And, there’s a great section with quick and easy, healthy recipes and juices. Yummo!
Ross Taylor, proudly involved with several Cancer organisations His CV is impressive: • Chairman, Brady Cancer Support Foundation Inc. • President & Founder, Lifeforce International • Immediate Past President, Breast Cancer Foundation of WA Inc. • Past President, Cancer Support Association of WA Inc.
